Cori M. Cohen
Senior Associate Attorney
Ms. Cori M. Cohen is an associate at Gilbert Employment Law focusing on employment litigation. At the firm, Ms. Cohen has represented private employees and federal sector employees under federal, state, and local anti-discrimination and whistleblower statutes. Ms. Cohen has achieved favorable results for clients who have brought claims under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the D.C. Human Rights Act, the Whistleblower Protection Act, and other industry-specific whistleblower statutes. Ms. Cohen’s practice includes litigating on behalf of employees in the administrative process, including before the Department of Labor, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the Merit Systems Protection Board, in federal district court, and at the appellate level.
Prior to joining Gilbert Employment Law in 2013, Ms. Cohen was a litigation fellow at Katz, Marshall & Banks, L.L.P, where she represented private sector employees on a variety of employment related issues. During law school, Ms. Cohen interned at the New York State Division of Human Rights where she drafted findings related to claims of discrimination. Ms. Cohen also represented low income clients in housing, family, and education matters as a student attorney with the Pediatric Advocacy Initiative.
Ms. Cohen earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School. Ms. Cohen graduated, cum laude, from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts in Government & Politics. She was awarded high honors by the University of Maryland’s Government & Politics program and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
